John Lee, Partner

John Lee is an experienced trial lawyer who specializes in commercial, intellectual property (patent, trademark, copyright and Lanham Act), real estate, employment, and complex insurance coverage litigation. He has tried multimillion-dollar cases to verdict and argued before the 7th Circuit, the Illinois Supreme Court and state appellate courts in numerous cases. Mr. Lee handled one case for 10 years against the city of Chicago that is now a seminal case published in a torts text book.
He has been lead counsel in cases pending in Illinois, Georgia, New York, California, Connecticut, Oregon, Arizona, North Carolina, Michigan, Delaware, Indiana, Texas and Alabama. Mr. Lee also represents large Korean conglomerates and Asian companies as their general counsel in the United States, as well as Western businesses doing business in Korea, He represents these clients in cross-border transactions, protection of intellectual property, establishment of distribution networks and litigation.

Lisa Breen, Partner

Lisa Breen is an experienced attorney who specializes in commercial litigation, estate planning and small business consulting. Ms. Breen practiced at various mid-size and large Chicago law firms from 1992 to 2008, where she represented several large commercial insurance companies, advising them regarding multi-millions dollar insurance coverage issues. In 2008, she left “big-firm” life to open her own practice. She now represents small to mid-sized businesses and individuals, assisting them with an assortment of legal issues, but with a personal touch. Ms. Breen is currently on the Board of the Professional Women’s Network and is very active in several local Chambers of Commerce.

Jill Magiera, Legal Assistant

Jill Magiera is an experienced legal assistant who has prepared for and won numerous trials with Lee & Breen. Jill joined Lee & Breen and was instrumental in opening its doors in January, 2012. Jill now runs the office. She works closely with the Firm’s attorneys and has assisted in numerous trials and deposition. She assists the attorneys in preparing written discovery responses, drafting motions, and reviewing and analyzing discovery documents. Jill also tracks the Firm’s calendar. She has a broad knowledge of both the State courts’ and federal courts’ rules and systems. The experience she has acquired at Lee & Breen allows her to work independently and maximize skills that go undeveloped at a big firm.
